The International Anatolian Jewelry and Ornament Congress, held at Kütahya Dumlupınar University on October 8-9, 2024, brought together experts in the field of jewelry and ornamental stones. The congress offered a comprehensive platform on the art of jewelry and ornaments, which are part of the rich cultural heritage of Anatolia.
The opening speech of the congress was made by the Congress Organizing Committee President Assoc. Prof. Dr. Haldun Şekerci, IKSAD Secretary General Dr. Kaldygul Adilbekova and Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Özer Aydın.
In the panel session held after the opening, important presentations were made under the presidency of Prof. Dr. Süleyman Kızıltoprak. Prof. Dr. Murat Hatipoğlu received great acclaim with his presentation titled “Kütahya Ornamental Stones”, where he explained Kütahya’s rich underground resources. Afterwards, Doğan Şapçı informed the participants with his presentations on “Kütahya Diamond Embroidery” and Köksal Irmak with his presentations on “Kütahya Semi-Precious Stones”.
In addition, an exhibition opening was held at the Zafer Exhibition Hall within the scope of the congress. The event, which was enlivened with folk dances, poetry recitals and musical performances, was appreciated by art lovers. The exhibition opening was carried out by the Head of the Exhibition Organization Board, Lecturer Gökhan Akça and IKSAD General Coordinator Merve Kıdıryüz.
