JOB DESCRIPTION

The aim of the part-time research assistantship program is to provide young researchers who wish to pursue an academic career with practical work experience and professional references that can support their future careers, while developing their competencies in fundamental research methods, academic communication, career development, and academic responsibility.

Working Hours and Social Benefits

Under the part-time employment arrangement, research assistants are expected to work 2–6 hours per day and 10–30 hours per week in accordance with the provisions of applicable labor legislation.

For participation in academic activities and official assignments, travel and daily allowances are paid in accordance with the provisions of the Travel Allowance Law.

Social Security Institution premiums are paid under the position of “Research Assistant.”

The contract period is 6 months.

General Eligibility Requirements for Research Assistant Positions

Applicants must have obtained an IELTS score of at least 7.0 within the last two years.

Applicants must hold at least a master’s degree.

As of January 1, 2026, applicants must not have reached the age of 30. Applicants holding a doctoral degree must not have reached the age of 36.

Applicants must successfully pass the written and oral scientific examinations.

Specific Requirement: Applicants must hold a master’s degree in the field of Language and Literature.

Proficiency in a third language is preferred (Swahili)

Specific Requirement: Applicants must hold at least a master’s degree in Economics.

Proficiency in a third language is preferred.
